Out of a Saturday night, I decided to make it culinary night. I’ve got a vegan chocolate cake in the oven and just made the most amazing vegan French hot chocolate!
First off, the craving came from the ideal chocolate and sitting at cafes in Paris with my chocolat chaud. Despite there not being as many vegan options in France, it is doable. But what is better than doing it yourself!
Buy unsweetened dutch chocolate baking powder. I buy mine in bulk at Sprouts, but there are many other options. Just make sure they are all natural as they will not have dairy. I used about 1/2 cup.
Organic brown sugar. I used 1/2 of that and 1.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk. (organic or your choice)
Added a few drops of Vanilla extract and a sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt to give it a glow.
I let it simmer and get to the bubbling point. Then it was ready to be served in your elegant French teacup with a slice of your triple vegan chocolate cake. Oops, did I say cake?
